Patriotic Writer’s Forum, Manipur conferred ‘Arambam Ibungohal and Binodkumari Literary Award-2015’ to Rameshwar Sarungbam, a young writer from Yairipok today during an award ceremony function held at Manipur Press Club here.
Speaking on the occasion, OC Meira, Editor, Patriotic Writer’s Forum Manipur said that with an aim to encourage the young writers from the state, the forum instituted ‘Arambam Ibungohal and Binodkumari Literary Award-2015’ in the year of 2013. It is being distributed to song and story writers below the age of 35 after a process of selection.
He said that Rameshwar started his initial work by writing short stories such as ‘Angangi Nanaobigi Nokningba Thoudok Wari’.
He became an approved song writer by All India Radio Imphal since the year 2005. Rameshwar is currently working as a ward member of Yairipok Municipal Council.
