IAFOM lauds appointment of Dr. K. Lokendro as Director AYUSH

Indo ASEAN Friendship Organization Manipur (IAFOM) congratulate Dr. Karam Lokendro, Additional Director MD, Manipur Health Services on his promotion as Director AYUSH Department, Government of Manipur with effect from 22th January 2015.
Indo ASEAN Friendship Organization Manipur (IAFOM) has been doing numerous activities to enhance the friendly relation with the neighbouring countries like Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia etc. through cultural activities, sports, trade and commerce specially Medical Tourism.
Dr. K. Lokendro is one of the sympathizer and well wisher who patronized and rendered active support to the cause and ideas of IAFOM for many years. The Organization got his valuable support and care in its every footsteps for Organizing numerous health care activities in remote area of Manipur and even in outside the country.
Dr. K. Lokendro got many creditable responsibilities and works for Indian Medical Association and almost passed prime period of his life by executing the tasks and responsibilities assigned to him. The construction of Indian Medical Association Auditorium was started during his tenure as Secretary of Indian Medical Association Manipur State Branch.
Dr. K. Lokendro has done tremendous efforts to uplift the Indian Association of Dermatologist Venereologist & Leprologist (IADVL) activities in Manipur by bifurcating from NE, IADVL in the year 1998 as a separate IADVL branch in Manipur. He is the Honorary President of IADVL, Manipur State Branch and National SOP Member, Under his guidance and supervision and organization various achievement of the Branch, IADVL Manipur State Branch won National Best Branch Award in 2014. Being the first Registrar of Manipur Medical Council (MMC), an autonomous Body to look after the Medical fraternity for their Medical Ethics and good practices, he has done excellent performance like Media interaction programme, associated with social organization etc, to create an atmosphere of “Patient & Doctors good relation”.
The Indo ASEAN Friendship Organization Manipur with its all Branches even in the other ASEAN countries showing solidarity gratitude to the Government of Manipur specially to the concerned department for promoting such a eminent social servant Doctor to a respectable post of Director AYUSH Department, Government of Manipur. The organization appealed the concerned Ministry of to provide separate OPD, Treatment Centres in all district of Manipur to enhance quality Treatment of AYUSH in Manipur thereby availing the treatment to the poor and needy people of Manipur and even from the neighbouring State and Countries with low expenditure to enhance Medical Tourism in the State.
