Imphal, Dec 8: A team of Imphal West Police Commando led by its OC P Sanjoy today nabbed three cadres of the URF Lalheiba group along with 3 Ak-56 rifles along 90 rounds of live bullet with magazines from Koutruk area early today morning. Police source said the team under the supervision of Th. Vikramjit, Additional SP (Ops) Imphal West conducted cordon and search operation at specific location of Kourtuk Village after receiving information about the presence of some underground cadres in the area. The information was received at around 1 am today and the CDO team reportedly rushed and cordon the area at around 3 am today morning. Among the three arrested cadres two are brothers and have been identified as Thounaojam Ingocha @ Tayai (age 45) and Thounaojam Chaoba (46) son of late Manglemjao of Koutruk Khunou. Ingocha reportedly live separately at Koutruk Ching Leikai. The other arrested cadre has been identified as Nunglepam Joy (age 31) son of N Kukra of Koutruk Khunou.
The Police source added that Nunglepam Joy had shifted some of the cadres who were taking shelter in the area using a auto rickshaw the previous night.
Mentioned may be made that URF Lalheiba group was a signatory of suspension of operation with the government but went underground once more by breaking the SoO agreement with the government.
It may be recalled that the same CDO team had successfully arrested a key cadre of PLA and recovered huge catch of arms and ammunitions. The Key cadre identified as Lairenlakpam Somorendra (wrongly mentioned as Lairikyenbam Somarendro in yesterday issue) has been handed over to Imphal West police to file charge sheet against him.
