I too have my responsibility for upgradation of RIMS to the status of AIIMS : Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze

Everybody including the public and those working at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal irrespective of their professions are equally responsible in making RIMS a world class institution. This was stated by the Lok Sabha MP Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze while talking to media persons at the sideline of the inaugural function of the Renovated O.P.D & Day Care Ward at the department of Radiation Oncology of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal .
A student of the Institution, who visited after almost 30 years, Dr. Lorho expressed happiness in seeing RIMS changes with different facilities .
“I am happy to see the various development being seen at RIMS but we still have to go a long way”, Dr. Lorho said. The Lok Sabha MP from the outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency , who is also an alumni of the Institute further said that he too have his responsibility in urging the central government as an MP to develop RIMS to the status of AIIMS.
“As RIMS today is a central Institute and as I am also an MP of the Lok Sabha I too have my responsibility in urging the center for upgradation of RIMS to the status of AIMS”, Dr. Lorho said. He however said that if he is given chance he will definitely put up the matter to the notice of the Central government in the upcoming Parliament session.
He also appealed the people to be supportive to the Institution as people’s support is needed to develop RIMS. To the media, the MP said that creating problem out of a mere mistake will hamper to the development of the RIMS.
“It is all right pointing out the mistake that happen sometime, however instead of trying to correct it if the media created hue and cry it will definitely hindered to the way forward”, Lorho said adding that media should also equally take the responsibility of developing RIMS to a world class institute.
Dr. A Santa, Director of RIMS who also attended the inaugural function as president appreciated the MP for his assurance of putting up the matter for upgradation of RIMS to the status of AIIMS to the notice of the concern central ministry.
