HSE candidate expelled for using Smartphone at Phungyar Centre

The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur has expelled a candidate from the ongoing Higher Secondary Examination, 2026 after she was found in possession of a Smartphone during the examination.
According to a report submitted by the Examination Officer-in-Charge of Phungyar Higher Secondary School Examination Centre, the candidate bearing Roll No. 7870 of the Arts stream was caught red-handed with a Smartphone while appearing for the Political Science paper held on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Acting on the report, the Council cancelled her candidature and expelled her from the Higher Secondary Examination, 2026 under Clause 11 (k) of the Conduct Rules, 2026 of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur.
In addition, the candidate has been debarred from appearing in the Higher Secondary Examination for two consecutive years, namely 2027 and 2028, the Council stated.
