A housewife named Salam (o) Ibemhal (37), w/o. S. Robindro alleged that she was assaulted by a person identified as Heisnam Dhanabir (50) on 4th August at 6.30 pm at her residence at Commando Complex quarter no. B-9 Type 2.Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, Ibemhal said that on 4th August she was going to buy Agarbati for her normal Pooja in the evening while returning at her residence Dhanabir shouted at her saying that she had pointed her finger on him and assaulted her brutally. She bore marks on her face and on her forehead for pulling off hair. She added that earlier Dhanabir has been suspended twice and he is now working as a Constable at Jessabi Police station, Ukhrul. Ibemhal further said they had filed a police report on 5th August but the culprit has not been arrested till now. She further appealed to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and give punishment to the culprit.
