House passes 6 demand for grants of rupees 1078,92,56,000/-

Imphal, July 17: Ongoing state legisltative Assembly session today passed six demand for grants of rupees 1078,92,56,000/- tabled by the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh amidst policy cut by opposition MLAs. The demand for grants passed today includes Rs. 41,83,23,000/- for the state Legislature, rupees 6,37,23,000/- for the council of Ministers, rupees 79,02,68,000/-for the secretariat , rupees 909,12,25,000 for the Finance department, rupees 26,23,46,000/- for arts and culture and rupees 16,33,71000/- for economics and statistic.Moving a policy cut to the demand for grants of the Secretariat, opposition MLA Ibomcha said that the state government has failed to control extravagant expenditure to the state secretariat. Ibomcha also said that there is no work discipline among the staffs of the secretariat and it is a common sight that a file submitted in the secretariat took around 90 days to reach the concerned authority and that too after lobbying the staff. He said government need to look into the matter. Ibomcha also said that state government has failed to maintain Manipur Bhavans in New Delhi and also to provide standard food to visitors. On the other hand MLA Dr. I Ibohalbi said that official secrecy of the secretariat could not be maintain as the Ministers are utilizing staffs from their allotted department due to lack of staffs.Replying to the policy cut motion, the Chief Minister agreed the failure to control the staffs of the Secretariat, however he said that the state secretariat could only be clean after every responsible citizen check the matter and complain to the concern authority.
