New Delhi, May 7:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took to social media platform ‘X’ on Tuesday to express solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces following the launch of #OperationSindoor, a military response reportedly targeting terror camps across the border.
Home Minister Amit Shah praised the armed forces, calling the operation “Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam.” In his post, he stated that the Modi government is determined to give a befitting reply to any attack on the nation and its citizens. “Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism,” Shah wrote, expressing pride in the forces executing the operation.
Former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also voiced his sentiments on ‘X’, saying, “The wounds of Pahalgam still ache, but today, justice has begun to answer. Jai Hind!”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge echoed similar sentiments, reiterating the party’s strong stance against terrorism. He asserted that India maintains an uncompromising national policy against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Kharge applauded the Indian Armed Forces for what he described as a courageous strike on terror camps in the region.
“The Indian National Congress has categorically stood with the Armed Forces and the Government since the Pahalgam terror attack, supporting any decisive action against cross-border terror,” he wrote. Emphasising the need for national unity, he added that the Congress Party stands with the armed forces and believes that national interest must remain above all.
Operation Sindoor comes in the wake of a terror attack in Pahalgam that left the nation in shock and mourning. The government has not released official details of the operation, but social media has been abuzz with support for the military action.
