High level Parliamentary team to take stock of the development projects in Manipur

Chief Secretary of Manipur PC Lawmkunga today convened a high level meeting with the administrative head of all the departments under the government of Manipur at around 3.30 pm at the conference hall of Manipur Secretariat (South Block). The meeting deliberated on various developmental projects being taken up in the state under various departments of the state government. Source with the Imphal Times said that the meeting is urgent in nature and it was convened after the state government received information about the visit of a Department – related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs (Rajya Sabha) from May 27 to May 29, 2015.
An official source added that the visiting Parliamentary team will comprise of 31 members. The team will take on the spot assessment on the subject “Development of North Eastern Region” and will also examine the action taken by the state government on the recommendations contained in its 173rd report on strengthening of the working of Ministry of DoNER for effective implementation of Policies, Programmes, Schemes and Projects meant for North Eastern region.
The Committee will call on the Chief Secretary Lawmkunga at 9 am of May 29 and will hear him on the various infrastructure development projects in the state.
