Healthy Life & Diet Plan for Women

A women’s awareness programme on “Healthy Life & Diet Plan for Women” was held today at the Training Hall of the Weaker Section Development Council (WSDC) in Khangsim Village, Tengnoupal district. The programme was jointly organised by the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) and Brightway IRCA, Tengnoupal District.

The programme was attended by Chairperson of the Manipur State Commission for Women Th. Tiningpham Monsang, Chief Functionary of the Weaker Section Development Council K. Shangnaidar Tontang, Member Secretary of the Manipur State Commission for Women and Additional Director, DIPR, W. Phajatombi (MCS), and MSCW Member SK Shophiya Monsang.

As part of the programme, Nutrition Consultant Dr. Changmei S. Ningshen delivered a session on “Healthy Diet Plan & Wellness Tips”, while Riyajuddin, Project Coordinator of Brightway IRCA, spoke on “Drug Abuse and Its Impact on Society.”

Addressing the gathering, Th. Tiningpham Monsang said women play a crucial role in every family and are primarily responsible for ensuring nutritious meals for household members. She observed that women should be equipped with adequate knowledge of the nutritional value of different foods. She also appealed to the participants to disseminate the knowledge gained during the programme in their respective localities to help create a healthier and better-informed society.

Speaking on the occasion, W. Phajatombi (MCS) said the Manipur State Commission for Women was established to provide assistance and support to women facing various forms of hardship and injustice. She informed the participants that the Commission has intervened in numerous cases involving women and has extended necessary assistance to victims.

She urged women facing harassment, abuse or any other form of injustice to approach the Commission for assistance. She also advised them to seek immediate help through the State Social Welfare Department’s toll-free Women Helpline 181 whenever required.
