Health Minister launches Ayush Sports medicine

Imphal, March 27: Health and Family Welfare Minister L. Jayantakumar Singh along with Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Letpao Haokip launched AYUSH Sports Medicine, today, at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
Gracing the launching function as the Chief Guest Minister Jayantakumar said that the time has come for integrated effort of selective departments for an augmented and more sophisticated venture. To kick-start the concept, Health Department and Sports Department have jointly launched the Sports Medicine to benefit the players. Medicine and sports always go hand in hand, he added.
Jayantakumar also advised the players to know and understand AYUSH and its importance. He said that there are many sport disciplines in which mind concentration is very much required. In this regard, Yoga may be mentioned as a method to train and enhance mind power. He also assured that all possible steps will be taken up for the welfare of the players.
Speaking as the Functional President Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip said that Ayush Medicine has no side effect. Players need to have proper education to have a more formal and advanced career. Sports also provide an opportunity to get jobs, he added.
Minister also expressed his concern over the disputes between the Sports Associations and the Officials. Letpao Haokip appealed the players to play the game with sincerity and dedication.
Ayush Sports Medicine kits numbering to 1,200 were also distributed to the players as part of the launching function.
The function was attended by Director, YAS, Government of Manipur, N. Pravin Singh, Director AYUSH, Dr. A. Guneshwor Sharma, Director, Health & Family Welfare, Dr. K. Rajo Singh and Additional Director, AYUSH, Y. Lukhoi Singh as Guests of Honour. Teaching and non-teaching Staffs and Students of the National Sports Academy (NSA), Imphal, Officials of the Sport Department, Staff and officials of the AYUSH also attended the inaugural function.
