Health department holds National Deworming Day

Directorate of Health Services, Manipur, in collaboration with the State Health Society, NHM, hosted a significant event at Malom Megha High School in Imphal West on Tuesday. The occasion marked the State Level Launching of the National Deworming Day, 1st Round, 2024. Distinguished guests, including Hungyo Worshang, IAS, Special Secretary of the Government of Manipur, and Dr. Somorjit Ningombam, State Mission Director of NHM, graced the event. The ceremony commenced with the arrival of dignitaries and officials, followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and a warm welcome by Dr. A. Sylvia, SNO, Child Health, State Health Society, NHM, Manipur. Key highlights of the event included the official launch of the National Deworming Day for the year 2024 and the administration of deworming tablets to children, symbolizing the state’s commitment to public health initiatives.
The event also featured insightful speeches by esteemed guests, including Shri Laishram Nandakumar Singh, IAS, Director of Education (S), Manipur, and Shri. Ng. Uttam Singh, Director of Social Welfare, Manipur. Dr. O. Sanahanbi Devi, Director of Health Services, Manipur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the importance of deworming initiatives in safeguarding the health of children across the state. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sougrakpam Ratna, Deputy SNO, Child Health, State Health Society, NHM, expressing gratitude to all attendees for their participation and support towards the success of the event.
