Haomee warns of intense agitation if Govt. ignores public voice

The Federation of Haomee has warned of intense agitation if the government fails to respond to public concerns over continuing violence and unrest in Manipur.

In a press release, federation president Sapamcha Jadumani thanked the people across the hills and valley for supporting its peaceful protest from 7.30 pm to 8 pm on October 23. He said shops and business establishments remained closed, lights were switched off and vehicular movement, including two-wheelers, was suspended during the protest.

The federation condemned what it described as attempts by certain individuals to misrepresent the movement and create divisions through social media comments.

Stating that the protest reflected public anguish over continuing violence, loss of lives and disruption of normal life, the federation urged the government to take people’s concerns seriously.

It appealed for continued public support for peaceful democratic movements, expressing hope that the protest would prompt concrete action to restore peace and harmony.
