Imphal, Nov 19:

Civil body, Federation of Haomee , has urged the BJP led Govt. to investigate on how two Govt. School, Tondonsana High School and Bangali High School were sold at Re. 1/- for setting up of Private School by the then Congress Government.
A statement by the Federation of Haomee said that some Ministers of that time may have conspired to earn huge amount of Money while abolishing the two schools which have adequate students for setting up of private school and urged the government to constitute a High Level Committee to investigate over the matter. It added many bright students have been produced by both Tondonsana High School and Bangali High School besides providing education to poor students of the region.
“What is most shocking is that it was in the middle of academic session when both the schools were abolished and for those students at Tondonsana High School who cannot afford private school , the then government arranged school around 3 kilometre far away from the location”, the Haomee said, adding that it was such arrangement was nothing but similar as telling those student to stop going to school.
“The Government should bear all responsibility for those students which have been dropped out due to the abolition of the two schools”, the statement of the Haomee said.
It added that those guardians and parents of the students who had stopped going to school after the abolition of the former government school had approached to the Ram Krishna Mission office Building located at Bangali High School for providing education to their children after the government failed to listened to their request, but the Mission School Authority simply sent them out without listening to them. Before that people have protested by even calling bandh for 2 days.
The Haomee further said that the Tondonsana School complex has also been a play field for the youths and children of the locality and after it has been sold those youths and children now have no place for playing .
Taking the matter with extreme seriousness Haomee urged the government to revive the two school once again and punish those persons who had conspire and sold the two schools at Re. 1.
