Handicrafts artisans sensitization programme held

One Day Seminar under AHVY Scheme for handicrafts artisans sensitisation of the schemes of DC(H) in cluster activities was held on 13th January 2022 at Salanthong, Imphal East, Manipur
The program has been organized by Handicrafts Service Centre, Porompat, Imphal East District, Manipur under the sponsorship of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
Chief Guest W. Birenjit, Retd. Asst. Director (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, GOI talked about the existing schemes lying under Ambedkar Hasta Silpa Kala, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
President Y. Jagyashowri Devi, Asst. Director (Handicraft), Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India said Medam has shared the objective of the program that promotes and protects the welfare of the artisans in India and Manipur in particular.
Guest of Honour Chanam Mani Singh, Retd. Asst. Director (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, GOI said he has expressed the rationale of the scheme of Dr. Ambedkar Hasta Shilpa Kala schemes. Importance of Identity Card for artisan so-called Pehachand Card, the opportunities got by registered artisans such as old-age pension, Travelling concession, educational sponsorship for children of artisans.
