Imphal, Aug 25: Locals of Thangmeiband area today found a hand grenade at THAU Ground Thangmeiband under Imphal West Police Station at around 11 am today. Police which were informed rushed the spot and retrieve the grenade at around noon. Later the grenade was detonated at around 1 pm at Lamphel area.
Mentioned may be made that THAU ground, where the grenade was found today was just few hundred meters from the State Assembly Complex. The 14th session of the state Assembly is also scheduled on September 2 this year.
