Hailstorm destroys at least 150 houses in CCpur

Imphal, April 23: As nature’s fury continues, people particularly in North eastern part of India as well as the neigbouring countries face the worst situation. At around 5 am today morning a strong hailstorm had destroyed at least 150 houses in Saichang, Santing, K Zoar and Maumuol area of Henglep Sub-division. However, there are no reports of human casualty.
Report reaching here said that the hailstorm blown away many houses besides destroying the crops and other set ups. People of the area are now struggling hardship searching for a safer place.
Following the natural disaster, a team comprising of S. Thienlaljo Gangte, SDO, Churachandpur, Soimenlian Lengen, SDO Henglep, Rev Thangkhosiem along with other government and civil society members rushed the site.
The government team along with the church leaders provided all possible assistance for the safety of the villagers.
