Imphal, July 5:

Two unidentified gunmen fired two rounds at Angel Children’s Hospital in Uripok around 5:18 PM yesterday. The gunshots caused panic among the hospital staff and patients.
Soibam Seema Chanu, a nurse at the hospital, expressed the staff’s outrage, stating, “We were treating patients when it happened. This sort of incident should not happen again to our hospital or any other hospital.” The staff and community members have united to protest against the violence, demanding better security and safety measures for medical facilities.
Nambam Chintham, Publicity Secretary of Uripok Apunba Lup, said, “Bomb and gun attacks have been happening for more than 10 years. We have been protesting against this. Instead of fighting with the enemy, they are using violence against us. Small children and women come here, and yesterday’s incident has caused fear among them.” He added, “We are all together. We can all sit down together and find a solution.”
