Fierce gunbattle was reported between Assam Rifle troopers and cadres of the UNLF at Old Somtal area in Chandel district along the Indo Myanmar border at around 6 pm yesterday. According to report reaching here the rebel group triggered IED near the Assam Rifle post located at Old Somtal in Chandel district along the Indo Myanmar border. Unconfirm report said a personnel of the AR was killed and another 4 sustained injury in the attacked. This is the second attack at the Assam Rifle post during the last three day.Earlier rebel group triggered an IED at the same area injuring a havildaar of the 3 Assam Rifle at around 5 am of August 26.
