A fierce gunbattle was reported to have taken place between combined troops of 2 Assam Rifles, 2 para and Thoubal Police Command and cadres of KNF(N) at Bongbal Khullen area near Keithelmanbi under Yairipok Police station since early today morning. According to report reaching here the encounter started at around 6 am today. More security force were reported to have reinforce at the site at around 12 noon. There is no report of any human casualty till now. Witness said that gun shots were heard even late afternoon suggesting that the battle went on till late in the afternoon.
