Guinea national arrested with cocaine

Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted and arrested a 34 year old national of Republic of Guinea for alleged carrying 2.9 kg cocaine worth Rs 18 crore at the Sahar International airport on Tuesday. 
Acting on the tip off that a person identified as Moussa Camara, was travelling from Addis Ababa to Mumbai via Dubai and had concealed a narcotic substance in his baggage, DRI officials laid a trap at the airport. 
Camara was identified with the help of his passport at the arrival hall. He was carrying a trolley bag with a false bottom in which the package containing cocaine was concealed. He was promptly arrested. He was produced before the magistrate who remanded him to judicial custody till December 08. This was the third such seizure in the last 10 days. 
In the meanwhile, the Mumbai zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)  took into custody five persons on charges of drug peddling and seized drugs including marijuana and Mephedrone (MD) on Wednesday night, NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede said in a statement. 
 In the first case one Sunil Gawai was arrested alongwith 1.250 kg Ganja(marijuana) from the area near Bandra court in North West Mumbai. An offence(NCB No 37/2000) was registered against him. In another case 10 blots of commercial quantity of LSD and 32.9 grams MD was seized from Nawab Shaikh and Farukh Choudhary after intercepting them neat Nathani Heights, Mumbai Central. 
In yet another case 20 blots of commercial quantity of LSD and 0.95 grams marijuana was seized from one Kerry Kelvin Mendes in Goregon in North Mumbai. Three others – Vipul Krishna Agre( 25), Yusuf Amin Shaikh( 24), and Amin Abdul Latif Shaikh, (55), who obstructed raiding party were also taken into custody. Besides in a follow up of NCB crime No 36/2020 two peddlers-Neil D’Silva and Ahmed Shaikh Sajid were arrested by NCB on Wednesday.
