Unable to remain as silent spectators to what has been going to the Catholic mission schools in the state, around 100 of parents and guardian of students studying at Catholic School Canchipur today staged a protest in front of the school today morning. The school along with five other Catholic runs schools in Imphal has been shutting down since the last couple of weeks due to interference of anti social elements. The parents and Guardians demanded immediate opening of the school and appealed the anti social element to stop interfering the school business and also requested them to stop playing with the fate of the thousands of students studying in the mission school. A parent while speaking to Imphal Times said that academic atmosphere in these schools has been severely affected with the interference of the anti social elements to these schools. He said there were only 5/6 classes since the session for this year began. It is now almost three months and the school authority as well as the teachers has nothing to worry as there is no relaxation to the school fees for students. He further added that fates of the students studying in the school are now at risk. He also appealed the government to find a speedy solution to the problem.
