Grenade explosion at former MLA’s residence; Protest held

Unidentified assailants in a car reportedly hurled an explosive device at the residence of Nahakpam Indrajit, a former MLA of the Kshetrigao constituency, late last night. The attack took place around 10:20 pm at Thambaolkhong Sabal Leikai, falling under the jurisdiction of Porompat Police Station. The explosion caused damage to the gate of the residence, though no injuries were reported.
Following the incident, police, bomb disposal experts, and forensic teams were promptly dispatched to the location. Authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the motive behind the attack and to identify those responsible. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Condemning the incident, a seat in protest was held at the Community Hall of Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai Nungthil Chaibi Club, organised by the Meira Paibis of Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency.
