Govt. allots land for Film and TV Institute

State government has allotted land for establishment of TV and Film Institute which was proposed by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. A reliable source said that the state government has allotted 184.73 acres of land available at Chingkhu Hills and Khundrakpam Village under Sagolmang Circle, Sawombung, Imphal East. The state government has also agreed to acquire more land for the construction of the Film Institute if require.Regarding the matter Chief Minister of Manipur had endorsed a letter to the Union Ministry of Broadcasting and Information Minister Prakash Javedkar. A source said that the Chief Minister had invited Expert Team from Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata to visit Manipur at the earliest and carry out the feasibility study.
