Home Minister K. Govindas today launched the SEED Green Legacy Orchard at the SEEDS complex in Sangaithel, with the planting of mature fruit-bearing trees aimed at enhancing greenery and improving the environment around the complex.
The initiative saw the planting of several grown fruit-bearing trees, most of which were brought by the Home Minister. The State Horticulture Department also contributed fruit-bearing saplings and trees to support the initiative.
Appreciating the efforts of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Govindas acknowledged its personnel for taking care of trees previously planted along the roadside, stressing the importance of sustained maintenance to ensure their growth and survival.
The Green Legacy Orchard initiative seeks to develop the SEEDS complex into a greener space through the planting and preservation of fruit-bearing trees.
Following the launch, the Home Minister inspected the adjacent Olympic Park and reviewed its condition. The park, located next to the SEEDS complex, was inspected as part of his visit to the area.
