Govindas calls on Asian investors to make NE states as their destiny

Imphal, April 7: Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam today called on the investors from South East Asian countries to make North Eastern States of India as their destiny.
Speaking during the inaugural function of the North East –ASEAN Business Summit organized under the theme “How to attract investment & Entrepreneurship in NE”,  Govindas Konthoujam said that North East states of India including Manipur can be dream business centers for Asian countries if investors understand the potential of these region.
The 2 days long North East ASEAN summit -2016 being held at City convention centre of palace compound is organized by Department of Commerce and Industries government of Manipur in association with Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and International Chamber for service Industries (ICSI). 
Commerce and Industry Minister Govindas Konthoujam said that North East Asian summit was being held to exchange the traditional market of North Eastern region along with neighbouring countries.
The chief guest of the function Tofail Ahmed, Minister for Commerce and Industries Government of Bangladesh said that North East states in India have close relationship with Bangladesh. He said Bangladesh is interested to carry on business with these region in India.
The Bangladesh Minister invited the Chief Minister and Commerce and Industry Minister of Manipur to visit his country to sign MoU for the development of commerce and industry between to country.
Over 140 delegates from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Vietnam Thailand and Philippine are taking part in th Business Submit.
Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwar Singh, Chief Secretary of Meghalaya KS Kropha IAS and Chief Secretary of Manipur O. Nabakishore Singh IAS graced the function as dignitaries on the dais.
