Governor of Manipur La. Ganesan has visited the Covid-19 Vaccination Centre at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, RIMS, Lamphelpat, today.
During his visit, he inspected the Covid Vaccination Centre at RIMS. As part of the visit, he also distributed Covid Vaccination certificates, pens and badges to those fully jabbed with second vaccination doses and immunity doses belonging to different age groups and professions.
Governor La. Ganesan also interacted with the doctors, nurses, frontline workers and other related officials of RIMS and Health Department, Manipur. He also discussed matter relating to the vaccination status of the state with the Covid-19 Vaccination team of RIMS. Governor also presented gifts to those medical staffs who are being stationed at the Vaccination Centre of RIMS.
Speaking to media Governor La Ganesan said that Manipur can set the record of 100% vaccination amongst the states. Rate of vaccination in rural and hilly areas is still lagging behind. The state need to gear up vaccination works with more efforts particularly in hill and rural areas. It is also a good initiative that the number of vaccinated persons in younger age group is being increased, he added.
Director, RIMS Prof. A. Shanta Singh, MS RIMS, Dr. Nepram Sanjit, Director NHM, Manipur Dr. Shyamjai, doctors and other concerned officials were present during the visit.
