Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla visited the border district of Chandel today to review the overall law and order situation and assess administrative and developmental progress.
During the visit, the Governor inaugurated the District Library and an Information Technology Centre at the district headquarters, aimed at enhancing public access to learning and digital infrastructure.
Subsequently, Governor Bhalla chaired a review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. He conducted a comprehensive assessment of various developmental initiatives, including Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the district. Deputy Commissioner L. Nandakumar Singh, along with other District Level Officers (DLOs), presented detailed updates on welfare programmes aimed at improving the lives of the local population.
Superintendent of Police Babitarani Swain briefed the Governor on security measures and ongoing efforts to maintain law and order. The Governor urged officials to ensure that government schemes effectively reach the people and deliver maximum benefit.
Governor Bhalla also interacted with representatives of Civil Society Organisations and listened to their grievances and suggestions.
Upon his arrival at the district headquarters, the Governor was warmly received by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and other senior officials.
