Governor urges NIT graduates to innovate, uphold values and lead India towards 2047 Vision

Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, addressed the young graduates of the 12th Convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur today, urging them to embrace innovation while remaining rooted in ethics and values. The ceremony, held at the City Convention Centre, Imphal East, also saw the distribution of medals and PhD degrees to students across various departments. Bajrang Lal Bagra, former CMD of NALCO and Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Institute, presided over the event.
Speaking to the graduating batch, the Governor congratulated them on their achievement and reminded them that their success was also a result of the guidance of parents, teachers, and the institute. He encouraged the students to carry forward this support system by contributing meaningfully to society and the nation.
Calling NIT Manipur a growing centre of excellence in science and technology, he urged the institute and its students to strengthen focus on research, innovation, and the goals outlined in the National Education Policy 2020. He reminded the graduates that their skills must align with the mission of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047, a vision where India emerges as a global leader in technology, sustainability, and inclusive growth.
In his message to the youth, the Governor advised: “Balance tradition with innovation, uphold your ethics and values, and let your knowledge serve the greater good.” He stressed that the next two decades would be decisive for India, and that young minds would play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s journey.
Quoting industrialist Ratan Tata, he remarked that real learning begins beyond the campus walls. He encouraged the graduates to dream big, pursue their goals with courage and sincerity, and face challenges with resilience, noting that their aspirations and achievements would not only define their future but also contribute to the nation’s progress.
