Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today co-chaired a high-level review meeting with Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, to assess the progress of various developmental projects being implemented under the Ministry’s purview.
The meeting was held at the Raj Bhavan, Imphal, with Union Minister Scindia participating virtually. During the session, the Union Minister shared his observations and offered detailed feedback on key focus areas.
Chief Secretary P.K. Singh presented a comprehensive overview of ongoing DoNER and NEC-supported projects, highlighting achievements as well as challenges. The review revisited several priority sectors discussed in the earlier meeting held on April 17, 2025. These included handloom and handicrafts, textiles, the promotion of Polo, tourism development, transport and connectivity enhancement, palm oil cultivation under the NMEO-OP, logistics and infrastructure strengthening, investment promotion, and the development of vibrant villages. Monitoring of PMO-priority projects and completion of distressed projects were also key agenda items.
Union Minister Scindia urged state officials to expedite execution timelines and ensure effective delivery. Governor Bhalla echoed this call, directing all concerned departments to intensify implementation efforts and focus on achieving measurable results.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the Governor, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), senior administrative secretaries, and officials from the North Eastern Council, who joined via video conference.
