Governor reviews ex-servicemen’s welfare

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla today chaired the third meeting of the Rajya Sainik Board, Manipur, at Raj Bhavan to review measures for the welfare, rehabilitation and resettlement of ex-servicemen, war widows and their dependents.

The meeting deliberated on ways to strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes and improve institutional support for the veteran community across the state.

Among the key issues discussed were the construction of a new Sainik Rest House-cum-Office Complex, strengthening manpower to enhance outreach services in the districts, and other initiatives to improve the functioning of the Rajya Sainik Board.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Commissioner (Home), Special Secretary (Finance), General Officer Commanding of the 57 Mountain Division, Deputy Commissioners of Imphal East, Imphal West and Churachandpur, members of the Rajya Sainik Board, and representatives of the ex-servicemen community.
