Governor interacts with DCs

Governor La. Ganesan had an interaction with Deputy Commissioner’s of Ukhrul District, Kamjong District, Tamenglong District and Noney District today at Banquet Hall, Raj Bhavan, Imphal.
During the interaction programme, the Deputy Commissioner’s present power point presentation on the status and implementation of various government schemes/programmes.
Governor said that he was so happy to hear from the District Administration as if he had visited the district. He informed that after taking over as Governor of Manipur, he had visited most of the district and had a fruitful interaction with the district administration. However, he could not make it for some district. His main concerned is whether the government schemes/programmes have reach to the people. He urges the Deputy Commissioner’s to write a letter the immediate needs, so that action will be taken accordingly.
Krishna Kumar, DC Ukhrul while presenting various activities taken up by the District Administration informed that the total doses of Covid Vaccination was 45297 with 1st dose – 26364 and 2nd dose -18933. The target achieved on CMHT was 4022 and PMJAY was 26879. In respect of e-Shram card enrolled so far achieved was 9130 and a total of 213559 e-Certificate were issued in the district. The DC also informed that seizure of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances was 4 kgs of opium in 20 packets and 48 grams of brown sugar. 1733 acres of Poppy plantation were destroyed.
Rang Peter, DC Kamjong informed the Governor that Kamjong district was bifurcated from Ukhrul district on December 8, 2016. While presenting the Covid-19 Vaccination status, he said that 12094 were vaccinated in 1st dose and 8027 vaccinated in the 2nd dose. The DC stressed the need for one College in the district apart from infrastructure development of existing schools. The construction for DC office complex of Kamjong and TD Block at Sahamphung were in progress. The DC also made a proposal for extension of NH-102A from Nampisha to Kashung-Bungtung via Kangpat Khunou, Kangpat Khullen and Kangkum (about 30 km) which will connect with NH-102A (Shangshak-Tengnoupal) and district HQ with Kasom Sub-Division. The construction of Transit accommodation for Doctors and teachers at Kamjong in nearing to completion.
Worshang Hungyo, DC Tamenglong informed the Governor that Tamenglong- Mahur road was completely compensation free project as people’s sacrifice of land for the sake of development of the district. After completion, Tamenglong will have two National Highways. The Tamenglong-Khongsang road, the only road linking Tamenglong district HQ with State capital was in a state of big abundant and was left unmotorable for the last so many years. However, now construction of this road is in full swing, expected to be completed by July, 2022.
As for Covid vaccination, 21850 were administered 1st dose while 15309 vaccinated in the 2nd dose.
Haulianlal Guite, DC Noney while presenting Covid 19 status informed that Noney is presently free from COVID. Staff quarter at Noney PHC is ready for inauguration and one PSA Oxygen plant at CHC Nungba is functional.
The DC’s were accompanied by Superintendent of Police of the districts.
CSOs of Tamenglong district who have attended the interaction programme highlighted the issues pertaining to their district and urges the Hon’ble Governor to address their plight.
