On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur, calling upon citizens to reaffirm their commitment to the constitutional values that define the nation.
In his Republic Day message, the Governor recalled that January 26 marks the historic day when the Constitution of India came into force in 1950, establishing the country as a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. He stated that the occasion serves as an opportunity to renew faith in the principles of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity, which form the foundation of the Indian Republic.
Governor Bhalla highlighted Manipur’s rich cultural heritage, unity in diversity and resilient spirit, noting that the state has consistently contributed to strengthening the fabric of the nation. He said the courage, resilience and talent of the people of Manipur, particularly in the fields of sports, arts, culture and public service, continue to inspire the country.
Urging collective responsibility, the Governor called on citizens to uphold the ideals enshrined in the Constitution, promote peace and harmony and work with dedication towards inclusive development and social justice. He expressed hope that Republic Day would renew the people’s resolve towards nation building and ensuring progress, dignity and equal opportunities for all.
