Governor Acharya holds discussions with various delegations

Prof. Premjit Singh, Regional Manager of Bharat Vikash Parishad, along with five representatives, met Governor of Manipur, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, at Raj Bhavan today. They briefed the Governor on the various philanthropic activities carried out by the Parishad. Prof. Singh highlighted the organization’s efforts in assisting marginalized communities, as well as its initiatives for differently-abled individuals and women. He also spoke about the Anaemia Free India campaign, noting that health camps had been organized and cases detected during the camps had been treated. Additionally, the Parishad has distributed tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, and other aids to those in need.
Governor Acharya expressed appreciation for the Parishad’s philanthropic work and encouraged them to collaborate with Raj Bhavan in the ongoing Anaemia Free campaign. He assured the representatives of his support for any initiatives undertaken by the Parishad. The Governor also urged them to organize youth-oriented programs to foster a sense of nationalism, helping young people contribute to a developed and prosperous nation.
In another meeting, T. Omesh, Secretary of the All Manipur Dalit Development Association, along with other members, called on the Governor to discuss the challenges faced by Dalits in the state. During the discussion, the Governor urged the team to submit a detailed report on how many individuals from the Dalit community had been deprived of central government schemes. He assured them that Raj Bhavan would support efforts aimed at uplifting the Dalit community.
Representatives from the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for the missing L. Kamalbabu also met with Governor Acharya at Raj Bhavan today. They requested immediate action to trace the missing person and submitted a memorandum to the Governor, urging for swift resolution of the case.
