GOC, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa visits Army installations in Vidarbha

On his second day of visit to eastern Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area, Lieutenant General HS Kahlon, GOC, Maharashtra Gujarat and Goa Area, visited Nagpur, Kamptee and Wardha, including India’s foremost Ammunition Depot at Pulgaon at Wardha in Vidarbha on Friday.
During his visit Lr Gen H S Kahlon, was shown the storage facilities and was briefed on the functioning of Ammunition Depot. GOC not only appreciated the efficient functioning, but also praised the developmental and ecological activities, which have ensured a safe haven for the growth and protection of large species of Flora and Fauna. Lt Gen also held meeting with officers of the depot.
Indo-Singapur Youth Exchange Program
In another development, Junior Under Officer(JUO) Manish Waware of DNC College, 20 Maharashtra Batallion NCC, Nagpur participated in Indo-Singapore Youth Exchange Program, held between NCC cadets of the two nations on Thursday and Friday.
He was only member from Maharashtra included in Indian contingent. He represented India, as country’s brand ambassador. He showcased and shared the rich culture and heritage in this unique cultural exchange with the Cadets of Singapore.
Selected NCC cadets participate in Youth Exchange Programme which is a country to country exchange of cadets belonging to NCC/ equivalent Govt/ youth organizations of friendly countries. They participate in NCC activities of the host country to create an increased awareness and appreciation of each other’s socio-economic and cultural realities. NCC has a vibrant YEP with 11 countries. The benefits of this programme have been widely acknowledged. Our cadets share a strong bond with our YEP partners. As of now more than 100 cadets proceed abroad on YEP annually, a Defence spokesman Wing Commander Ratnakar Singh said.
