Ghost of Khwairamband Keithel July 23 fake encounter killing still haunts former Addl. SP; Apunba Lup demand speedy trial

Imphal, March 24: Ghost of fake encounter victims continue to haunt those officials who are directly or indirectly involved in masterminding such drama.
Th. Herojit, the head constable who had made a  confessional statement of how he shot death Ch Sanjit in cold blood on July 23, 2009 at Khwairambandh Keithel  had given hopes of justice to  those killd in fake encounter.
Interestingly, CBI which is investigating the incident at which another pregnant lady Rabina was also killed,  had re-examine the case by taking  another statement of Th. Herojit on February 22 this year.
Interestingly, the Then additional SP of Manipur Police , Imphal West, Dr. AK Jhalajit, whose name has been mentioned by the head constable had taken anticipatory bail till March 2.
Later too, the Police officer again approach the court and plead for granting anticipatory bail as he was confined in urgent election duty. The Manipur High Court granted him the same till April 3, at which he cann’t be neither question nor summoned in regard with the case or Th. Herojit’s Confessional statement.
Meanwhile, Convenor of the Apunba Lup Manipur, Ayekpam Landon Leima, while speaking to media persons said that, the Apunba Lup which was formed to fight against all form of human rights violation after the kiling of Th, Monorama will launch several form of agitation if the government fail to speed up the case.
She also said that the present government led by BJP, in its vision document had stated that all the fake encounter killing case will be investigated and those responsible will not be spare.
Landon said that the BJP should fulfilled its promise to the people or else the people of the state will launch several form of agitation.
