IT News
Imphal, April 23:

In a tragic turn of events, two Kuki villages—Gampal and Hayang hamlet —in Manipur’s Kamjong District were razed to the ground in the early hours of the morning by unidentified arsonists. Hayang however is not a revenue village as per record. Residents were jolted awake by raging flames that swiftly consumed homes, granaries, and years of hard-earned livelihoods, leaving the communities devastated and displaced.
Preliminary accounts from locals suggest the possible involvement of individuals linked to the NSCN, but law enforcement agencies have urged the public to refrain from speculation until a formal investigation sheds light on the facts. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
Security forces swiftly responded to the incident, conducting damage assessments and mobilizing relief efforts for the affected villagers. Authorities have launched an investigation into the arson, vowing to bring the culprits to justice and restore a sense of security in the region.
The incident adds to the mounting tension in the region and highlights the urgent need for peace-building and inter-community dialogue. As the villagers of Hayang and Gampal struggle to recover from this tragic loss, many call for swift action and justice to prevent further escalation of violence in the area.
