Imphal: In a drive against gambling (Lagao Khaoba) in the state, a civil team of Thoubal CDO along with DSP – CDO and OC – CDO confiscated a large number of gambling dice (Lagao Maru) along with the gambler yesterday.
The gambler and gambling dice (Lagao Maru) were confiscated from Athokpam, Tentha, Khongjom, Wangjing, Haokha in Thoubal Areas.
The gambler has been detained for further legal action.
Mention may be that despite being announce illegal activities by the concern, every year when the festive season of Dipawali and Ningol Chakouba arrive, gambling (Lagao Kahoba) has been going on in various part of the state in every leikai till date.
