Gaikhangam calls for peaceful co-existence among various community of the state

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also in charge Home today calls on the people of the state to live peacefully among the various people of the state. Speaking at the 42nd Foundation day of the Youth Welfare Association, Wangoi Makha Leikai held at Wangoi Makha Leikai, Gaikhangam stressed on the role of local club in the present day society. he said local clubs can initiate various programme to promulgate peace and unity among among the people of the state besides taking active role in the correction of societal wrong.
Later the Home Minister went at Wangoi Kabui Village and interacted with the villagers. Speaking there, Gaikhangam recalled the sacrificial spirit of Kabui leaders like Jadonang and Rani Gaidinlui for the cause of the nation’s freedom. he appealed the Zelianrong community to follow the root of the leaders to bring peace and unity among the people.
Besides Gaikhangam, the 42nd Foundation Day function of the Youth Welfare Association, Wangoi Makha Leikai was also attended by Sh. Achouba, Vice President, MPCC and chairman of Khadi and Village Industries. The Deputy Chief minister donated a sum of rupees 50,000 as fund for development of the club. He also assured to bear 50% expenditure for the construction of the Club building. Another 50% is to be beared by the club.
Four cultural troupe which performed during the foundation day function were awarded a sum of rupees 10,000 each. Vice president of the MPCC Sh. Achouba also presented a sum of rupees 3000 each to each cultural troupe.
