Free eye-treatment & Cataract camp held at Khekman

A one-day long free eye-treatment & Cataract camp was organized jointly by Shija Eye Care Foundation,Langol, District Blindness Control Society,Thoubal, Lions Club,Leo Club & Lioness Club of Thoubal, AIYF,Khekman and Loumi Marup,Khekman at Khekman Zila Keithel Complex today.A team of five doctors led by Dr.Romen Singh of Shija Eye Care Foundation Unit,Langol conducted the camp wherein villagers of  Khekman and nearby areas availed of free eye-treatment.Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the camp, Dr.Renu, said that the free eye-treatment camp was conducted at Khekman as the place is located a little far from Imphal and it does not have proper medical infrastructure. Shija Eye Care Foundation Unit would conduct operations free of cost for those patients whose are confirmed Cataract patients in today’s eye camp would conduct the requiring cataract operation on December 11, she added.Further said, mainly the free eye treatment & Cataract camp was done after the two days awareness given by Dr.Renu for eye treatment & for about cataract to the villagers of different areas of Khekman.The main activity of Lions Club is the sight first. so not only the older people but the child those whose are inborn blind would have giving the chance of operation to see, she added.
