Imphal, Aug 4: All Manipur United Club Organisation (AMUCO) appealed to the people of the state to stand together to protect the integrity of the state during the 19th Manipur Integrity Day held at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai today.
During the function President of AMUCO Mani Khuman stated that the rally of 4th august 1997 was to seal the integrity of Manipur which might be affected by the peace talks between NSCN (IM) and government India. AMUCO and people of the state would stand for the integrity of the state.
Commenting on the burning issue of Indo-Naga peace accord and the frame work agreement, he said that nobody but only the NSCN (IM) and central government knows the actual content of the frame work agreement. All the people are at a lurch without knowing the points of agreement. There is no transparency and the agreement is the manifestation of their hidden agenda regarding the frame work agreement.
He further added that people of the state should be prepared to face the outcome of the peace accord. For that we need a common platform for all communities of the state for a common issue.
Earlier today, the programme began with offering floral tributes at the Integrity Pillar installed near the Manipur State Museum.
President of Irabot foundation Manipur Th. Iboyaima, President of Poirei Leimarol Meirapaibi Apunba lup L.Memchoubi, Home Affair of Kupi Inpi Manipur Hemjathang Khongai, Chairman of Zeliangrong Union Imphal DH Gaikhangmei and Advisor of AMUCO KT Rahaman graced the function as presidium members.
