Imphal, March 23:

At least four cadres of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) led by the Pambei group were injured in a clash with members of Arambai Tenggol at Khurai on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, around 15-20 Arambai Tenggol members stormed the residence of Irengbam Nandakumar Singh, a member of the UNLF (Pambei group), at Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai and allegedly began assaulting those present. The injured militants were taken to Shija Hospital for treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable, a police source said.
Although locals reported hearing gunshots, no bullet injuries were recorded, the source added.
Following the incident, security forces raided an office of Arambai Tenggol in the Khurai area on Saturday night. During the search, they seized three four-wheelers, 15 grams of suspected heroin, eight bulletproof plates, three wireless handsets, an INSAS bayonet, two .303 bayonets, two swords, and other incriminating documents.
However, no arrests have been made so far in connection with the clash, a police official said.
The UNLF (Pambei group) had signed a peace agreement with the Government of India on November 29, 2023, marking a significant development in the insurgent landscape of Manipur.
Arambai Tenggol, which had been actively involved in clashes with Kuki village volunteers, surrendered their firearms in February following an appeal by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to return looted weapons.
