Under HADP (Hills area development fund) Tamei MLA, Awongbow Newmai today laid the foundation stone for water supply scheme at Tamei headquarter in the presence of Namsinrei, Tamenglong ADC, Chairman, SDO, Tamei and EE, PHED.
During the function Awongbow Newmai expressed that he is very happy to see HADP pilot project implementing first in Tamenglong district which will benefit the people of Tamei area. He also stated that the completion in time and success of the project will give impact for further implementation of the program in other district of the state.
At the function he also stressed the work agency to maintain the lockdown relaxation norms for the workers such as social distancing. Due to lockdown which the project is to be completed by October, 2021 (18 months time) it has been delayed by 2 months added Newmai.
The water project targets to supply water to Tamah, New Tamah and Tamei headquarters.
After the inaugural function , Sub Divisional level consultative meeting on Covid-19 and preparation of quarantine center was also held at community hall, Tamei SDO quarter campus along with Awangbow Newmai, MLA, Tamei AC, Namsinrei Panmei, Tamenglong, ADC Chairman, SDO, Tamei, government officials and village chairman and Secretary of Tamei subdivision.
After the meeting SDO Tamei and PHED team inspected Water and Sanitation facilities at Quarantine centers at Tamei. SDO who is taking care of the centers expressed that more facility and more centers will be needed as more people are expected to come.
