Former rebel leader R.K Sanayaima aka Meghen today appreciated the state government initiative to boost the tourism sector by organizing the Sangai Festival in a grand manner.
Talking to media persons at Sagolband, the former rebel leader said that the Sangai festival while attracting the foreign and domestic tourists will also promote the Manipuri traditional game. He expressed his desire to keep the Kangjeibung inside the Kangla Forth, Mapal Kangjeibung and the Hapta Kangjeibung as a reserved playfield for the Sagaol Kangjei, Mukna Kangjei and Mukna.
He appreciated the government initiative to organize Sagol Kangjei inside the Historic Kangla Fort.
The former rebel leader also said that it will be good for the government to display the historical books (Puyas) during the festival as tourist visiting the Sangai festival may learnt the aged old civilization of the state.
