The district officials of the Social Welfare Department of the Saikul Integrated Child Development (ICDS) Project today distributed food items to the Aganwadi Centres for providing hot cooked meal in Saikul Sub-Division, Kangpokpi District.
All together 249 Aganwadi centres collected hot cooked meal items which will be further distributed to the beneficiaries in the form of ‘take home ration’. As classes for the beneficiaries are on halt in view of the COVID situation, allotted rations will be distributed to the respective beneficiaries through home visits by the Anganwadi Workers.
The food items such as gram, pulses, salt, mustard oil, turmeric powder, groundnut among others were distributed under the Supplementary Nutrition Programme, ICDS of the Social Welfare Department to the eligible beneficiaries that is children under 6 years, pregnant women and lactating mothers as per the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India.
