Followers of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot hopes a Life size statue of the leader at Myanmar Myanmar Meitei assures to put up the matter to their government

Left wing students group, civil society organization, women’s body and local club of Sanjenbam in Imphal East wished – a life size statue of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at Myanmar, where in the leader succumbed to an illness while returning back to Manipur.

Students’ body Socialist Students Union Manipur (SSUM), Civil body Manipur Proletariat Peoples’ Union (MPPDU), Socialist Women Association (SWA) Proletarian feminist Movement (PoFM) in association with Social Athletic Club Sanjenbam , Imphal East today hosted Myanmar settled Meitei tourist with a grand traditional feast at Sanjenbam Community Hall in Imphal East. The matter about the desires of the followers of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at any appropriate place of Myanmar but most preferably at the place in Myanmar where the leader breath his last while returning back to Manipur.

“If Meitei brethren of Myanmar can help we the follower of Hijam Irabot want to installed a life size portrait in Myanmar”, Bhusan Longjam , General Secretary of SSUM requested the Meitei tourist from Myanmar while felicitating them.

Samananda , the General Secretary of MPPDU also stated that if there is a possibility the civil society will help organizing support for the construction from Manipuri Diaspora across the globe.

Samananda further added that 12 of December is being observed as Nupi Lal Day in commemoration to the courage of the women of the state in fighting for their right.

“It will be a good move if the Meitei in Myanmar started celebrating the event from this year”, he added.

Wang len , the lady which lead the 35 member Myanmar tourist who are here to witness the Sangai festival extended her respect to the people of Manipur for the kind of treatment they received.

As soon as they reached Sanjenbam large number of students and people of the area welcome them by standing on the side of the road. Later they were escorted by the local of Sanjenbam and the students till the Community Hall where a grand traditional feast had been arranging.

“We will discussed about the desire of the follower of Hijam Irabot with Meitei popularly called as Kathe by the Myanmar and will try to start observing Nupi Lal from this year”, Wang Len , whose Meitei name is Anoubam Rekha assured the gathering.

22 of them came and mementos were given as a token of respect to the Manipuri who had stayed in Myanmar.
