The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today observed the 83rd anniversary of the Quit India Movement with a floral tribute ceremony at Congress Bhawan, B.T. Road, Imphal.
The event was attended by Manipur PCC President K. Meghachandra Singh, CLP Leader, CWC Member, Deputy CLP Leader, Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, former MPCC presidents, ex-MPs, ex-MLAs, MPCC office bearers, party spokespersons, PCC members, chiefs of frontals, cells, departments, as well as DCC and BCC presidents, alongside other Congress leaders and workers.
On the same occasion, the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) marked the 65th Foundation Day of the Indian Youth Congress with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by the Manipur PCC President and MPYCC President. The programme saw the participation of the CLP Leader, AICC CWC Member, senior party leaders, workers, and youths.
Briefing the media, MPCC President K. Meghachandra Singh recalled the historic call of “Do or Die” given by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942, a movement that united the nation against colonial rule and paved the way for India’s Independence.
