Flood: Water level recedes; relief material distributed

Water level at Thoubal district has been slowly receding, showing signs of relieve to the flood affected people of Thoubal district and Bishnupur district today afternoon. According to report reaching here, condition of Tentha and Tekcham along with its surrounding improved a bit with the level of water receding slowly.
Meanwhile, district administrators had started distributing relief material at relief camp open for the flood affected people.
Even as the water level has been receded the people still could not return to their houses as water still continue to submerge most of the houses.
At Chandel district, the PWD officials are busy clearing the landslide along the Imphal Moreh route. There were major landslide at three different places along the Imphal Moreh route. Because of the landslide Imphal Moreh road has been cut off for the past two days.
Meanwhile, rescue operation is advancing at Joumol Village in Chandel district and its surrounding by the National Disaster Response Force. Some of the dead body has been reportedly recovered by the rescue team and some survivors were rescued by the NDRF team.  A company of the NDRF has already reach Joumol Village and today too another company of NDRF had arrived at Imphal early today morning. The team was also airlifted today morning by Indian Air Force helicopter.
