Flood Situation in Manipur: 5 deaths, over 1.65 lakh affected, 35429 houses damaged

Manipur continues to reel under the impact of widespread floods and landslides, with the latest Daily Situation Report (DSR) issued at 5:30 PM on June 6, 2025, revealing alarming figures. The cumulative number of people affected has reached 1,65,943 across 708 villages and localities, with significant damage reported to both lives and property.
The past 24 hours saw the death toll rise by three, bringing the total number of human casualties to four. While no new injuries or missing persons were reported, the number of damaged houses rose to 35,429, with 45 new cases recorded in the last day. Light rainfall was reported across affected areas.
Landslides also remain a major concern, with nine additional incidents reported, taking the total number of landslide cases to 169. Infrastructure damage rose to 76 locations, and crop damage now stands at 162.65 hectares.
The situation has triggered the establishment of 82 relief camps, with 78 currently operational. As of now, 4,147 individuals have been evacuated to safer locations. The state authorities, along with assistance from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Indian Army, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), are continuing rescue and relief operations.
Medical relief camps have been set up in eight locations, and essential relief materials continue to be distributed. However, central ministries other than the defence forces have yet to formally deploy aid.
