Flood kills at least 20 in Northern Bangladesh

Imphal, Aug 14: Imphal-West Police team has arrested three suspects of the Kakwa Naorem Leikai bomb blast which occurred yesterday at about 9:40 am.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Sapam Nanda @ Makar (50 yrs), son of S Sanatomba of Bashikhong Torban,  Piba Yaima MAring (29 yrs), son of B Angphun of Kangkoi Khullen and Thingbaijam Sanjoy (35 yrs), son of Th Dronjit of Kakwa Naorem Leikai.
Bomb making materials like, 81 gelatin sticks (power gel), 2 TNT case weighing 500 grams each, 6 circuits, 1 remote control device, 3 mobile phones and 5 sim cards which were used in making the bombs was recovered from the three suspects.
Speaking to the media persons at the conference hall of Imphal West SP, SP Themtheng Ngashangwa said that upon receiving the news about the yesterday blast, a team of Imphal-West Police led by DSP Amit and OC Achouba under the supervision of Imphal-West SP conducted search and raids operation at various places to nab the culprits.
Sapam Nanda, a PREPAK cadre was arrested during the search and raids operations.
Upon interrogations, Sapam Nanda reveals that the names of the other involved two persons in carrying out the blast.
Nanda confessed that they have assembled the IED in the morning of August 13 and planted it around 7 am of the day itself.
Mention may be that amidst tight security, an IED was exploded yesterday around 9:40 am at Kakwa Naorem Leikai near Lairembi gate in between a waiting shed and electric transformer but luckily no person were injured.
